50’s Wrap Skirt

Hi all…..yes I know it’s been ages since my last post! I’ve just been flat out creating and making for either Brides, their bridesmaids or even their mothers! Been fun, but some things get neglected!

I have managed though in between jobs to make a pattern and made this lovely wrap skirt.

Whilst trawling though the internet I came across this lovely vintage pattern image Butterick 5261 and as usual the pattern is not to be seen! So a challenge! As I really wanted it, so with the images I had at hand I went to work making the pattern.

After making the pattern and to my waist measurement I created a toile (mack sample in calico).

All good! So I went ahead and made the finished skirt in a lovely pink floral cotton.

So here is the finished results…..what do you think? I hope you like?!

Perfect for the summer. I’m thinking I might make these for a ready to wear range in S, M, L & XL; but this will be after I finish my bespoke dresses for my ladies! 😄

  1. I’ve searched all over the internet for the exact same pattern (Butterick 5261) and I just can’t find it 😥

Is your pattern up for sharing? I would cry my eyes out of joy!
